Video Lead Technician

Position Description:

The job and purpose of all CPR employees is to maintain and ensure that the established company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols are adhered to and maintained at all times. The Video Lead Tech requires technical skill, knowledge, and experience working with professional video equipment. The Video Lead Tech reports directly to the Video Manager while working in the warehouse, and the corresponding Show Manager when on a job site.  As a Video Lead Tech you will be setting up the latest equipment and systems in preparation of loading in events, staging, striking at the conclusion of events, and ensuring equipment is protected and secured during down periods.

Primary responsibilities of a Video Lead Technician:

  • Responsible for set-up, operation and break-down of shows, including but not limited to, corporate events, trade shows, exhibits, concerts, theatrical productions, etc.
  • Directs tasks to video/LED technicians and stagehands onsite as Crew Chief.
  • Participates in tracking and monitoring onsite equipment.
  • Programs switchers/LED processors and works with sales/staff to produce diagrams for shows.
  • Ensures all equipment and packages are always 100% complete and show ready by assisting in prepping equipment to be scanned to outbound orders.
  • Troubleshoots damaged equipment and communicates to Manager on a course of action.
  • Works in Flex Rental Inventory software.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Assists in daily warehouse duties when not on show site that are delegated by Manager.
  • Maintains a positive and supportive attitude at all times. Reports to Manager of any and all personnel conflicts, grievances from other staff, and any violations of company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Required experience in programming and operating Broadcast Pix/Blackmagic Switchers.
  • Minimum 3 years experience using industry equipment.
  • Experience with programing in NovaStar, Envision and LED Studio Software.
  • Experience blending/stacking projectors.
  • Experience in leading video crews onsite for load-ins, shows, and load outs.
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment and practices a plus.
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends.
  • Ability to load/unload trucks, overhead lifting, lifting over 50lbs, and pushing items over 100lbs on a daily basis.
  • High School Diploma required. College education preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clear motor vehicle record. Reliable transportation and punctuality required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Flex Inventory control software knowledge a plus.
